Orange Chiffon Cake Recipe

Orange chiffon cake is super easy to bake at home. Since oranges are in season so it is easy to stay at home and make this at home. Ingredients of this recipe are very basic and you might have all of them. Orange chiffon cake is a light cake. Whipped up egg whites create extra lightness in the cake.

Ingredients

6 egg yolks
7 egg whites
2 and 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
1 and 1/4 cup of sugar
1 tbsp of baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp of orange zest
3/4 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup of sugar

Procedure

1. Separate egg yolks and egg whites in two separate bowls. Set them aside.
2. In a bowl of egg yolks add all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, orange zest and mix well. Grind sugar in the grinder, make powder sugar. Add that in the bowl and mix.
3. Add orange juice and cooking oil, whisk well and make a smooth cake batter and set aside.
4. Grind sugar and make it powdered sugar. Start beating egg whites while gradually adding powder sugar to that and whisk well until stiff peaks are formed.
5. Add that egg whites into Cake mixture, gently start adding and keep on folding with light hand.
6. Grease your 10 inch cake tin with cooking oil. Add your batter to the cake tin.
7. Preheat oven to 180 degrees centigrade. Bake for 60 to 90 minutes or until cake is fully done.
8. Loosely Cover it with aluminum foil if cake turns brown very quickly. Take out cake from oven and let it cool for a bit, then slice it and serve.
