Fried and spicy Bhindi masala

Bhindi masala This yet another delicious recipe of Bhindi masala. Bhindi (English: Okra AKA Ladies’ Fingers) Is one of the favorite vegetable in our home. That is why we cook it at least once a week. The recipe is very simple and easy to follow. I hope you enjoy Bhindi Masla Recipe.

Ingredients for Bhindi masala

For frying
500 grams of lady finger,chopped
Vegetable oil for frying

For masala
2 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 medium sized onion,chopped
1/2 cup of water
1/3 tsp of salt
¾ tsp of red chili powder
¼ tsp of turmeric powder
2 medium sized tomatoes,chopped
½ tsp of garam masala
3 to 4 green chilies,thinly chopped lengthwise

Procedure

1- In frying pan,heat up oil on high heat and fry all the chopped Bhindi in batches.Fry them until each piece holds its shape well,take them out on a plate and set aside.

2- In a heavy bottom pan, add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and onions. Cook onions until they get softened and brown around the edges.Add 1/4 cup of water and stir it.

3- Add salt, red chili powder and turmeric powder. Stir it well.

4- Add chopped tomato, garam masala and stir it. Add remaining ¼ cup of water and close the lid. cook tomatoes for about 5 minutes on medium heat.

5- Add green chilies and fried Bhindi. Stir well,turn down the heat to low. Cook it for 2 minutes and then switch off the heat. Serve right away with flat bread or naan and enjoy…
