My Top 11 Tips and Tricks to win in Clash Royale

Tips and Tricks to win in Clash RoyaleWe all love Clash Royale don’t we. Here I am sharing my top 11tips and tricks that I learned while playing Clash Royale. If you play while keeping these tips in mind, I can guarantee you’ll give a tough competition to your opponent. Three crown win is not as easy as it sounds (unless the opponent leaves match because of poor internet connection) and you have to make a strategy to win, and remember, IT’S NOT A GAME, IT’S WAR…

How to download Clash Royale

If you haven’t already, download it for free now, available both for android and iOS. So let’s begin:

Counter with a Tank

Counter with a Tank
Remember one thing, you must protect you towers from any damage, even a single arrow from archer can earn you a loss at later stage. If an opponent’s unit is approaching your tower even with a sliver of health, don’t ignore it.
My approach in such cases is dropping a tank (Tank is a troop with high number of hit points). Tank will distract the opponent unit and either your guard tower will kill him or you will have enough time to collect elixir and drop an attack unit. Now the defense is changed into a strong push and your opponent must defend his own guard tower instead of attacking yours.
When and where to drop the defensive Tank is also important. I’ll explain it in the next trick.

Guard Tower’s range

Guard Tower’s range.

Guard towers start shooting at the opponent troops as soon as they cross the bridge. Now the placement of defensive Tank changes for troops with different ranges, but the best use of defensive tank is when opponent’s troop is in your guard tower’s range but it has targeted your tank unit. This way guard tower will kill it and you can save elixir to drop an attacking unit, which leads us to my next tip.

Drop your attacking Unit behind Tank

Drop your attacking Unit behind Tank

This is fairly obvious. Tank in front will absorb the hits from opponent’s tower and other attack units (and deal some damage too) while your attacking unit does its work. When your opponent’s units will target your attacking unit after killing the tank, it will be already too late.

Tank Units are great both in defensive and attacking scenarios, let’s continue this discussion in our next tip.

Always add a Tank in your deck

Always add a Tank in your deck

You need a tank to absorb your opponent’s hits while you collect elixir for an attacking unit. If your defensive tank somehow managed to reach the opponent’s tower, that’s a bonus. It will deal some damage to the tower while keeping your opponent’s units distracted from your attack unit.

Speaking of keeping cards in your deck, my next tip is:

Keep at least one Spell in your deck

Keep at least one Spell in your deck

While you can drop units only on your side of the arena, spells are the exception. You can drop them anywhere, on your side or your opponent’s side. Your opponent can defend his towers from the units coming from across the bridge but he can do nothing against the spells. That is what makes them so great at occasions.

Let’s say, game is in sudden death mode and your opponent is defending his tower well, so well that none of your units can reach it, but the tower health is very less. Now no matter how good his defense is, he can’t do anything when a fireball comes flying towards the tower and ultimately shattering it into pieces. 😊 I know it’s painful to watch but hey, its war;remember.

Speaking of painful surprises:

Surprise Element in your deck

Surprise Element in your deck

So many people play Clash Royale all day long. For more experienced users it’s really easy to predict the strategy of their opponent within the first minute of the game.So it is important to keep a surprise element in your game. You should have a card that you don’t show to your opponent and when the times comes, you drop it leaving your opponent stunned for a second, and that’s all the time you need. This can be one card or using a combination of multiple cards in a way that your opponent was never expecting.

More popular surprise elements are use of clone or freeze spells, sending mirrored units, throwing rocket to finish the game, and some others.

Now we’re talking game strategy, let’s head to our next tip:

Defensive or Offensive?

My advice to you: carefully observe your opponent’s moves during the first minute of the game, and decide whether to play defensive or offensive. Not each deck is suitable for every situation so if you think your opponent’s defense is too strong and your attacks are not working that much. You obviously don’t want to lose your trophies so just defend your towers by neutralizing your opponent’s attacks and end the game in a draw.

After one guard tower is down

8. After one guard tower is down

I know a three crown win sounds awesome but beware, king tower is almost twice the health then the guard tower. This happened to me multiple times that after destroying the guard tower (while one of my guard tower was also down) I attacked the king tower. My opponent, while defending his king tower, also keep attacking my other guard tower. He won by destroying my other guard tower because he had to deal almost half as damage as I did. So lesson learned here, no more three crowns for me. I am happy with two crowns, unless you leave the match because of poor internet connection *wink *wink

Drop a Unit in center and it will target the guard tower

Drop a Unit in center and it will target the guard tower

After one guard tower is down, you can drop your units into ¼ th of your opponent’s side of the arena. If you drop a unit in the exact center, it will target the guard tower and not the king tower. Drop your unit anywhere else and it will target the king tower. Just a small little detail to remember.

Speaking of little details, our next tip:

Use Elixir wisely

Use Elixir wisely

There is no such thing as Enough Elixir. You always need more. I try to manage elixir by never letting it fill up and sitting. I drop my units as soon as the elixir bar hits 9. Keep in mind that the elixir is collected only up to 10 and if your elixir bar is filled up and sitting, you’re actually wasting elixir.

This changes according to situation and your strategy, that is why clash royale says “Use elixir wisely” and not “efficiently”. Efficiently means not wasting elixir, saving every bit of it and this can only be done by dropping units regularly, this can be a good strategy in some cases but not in all.

For me in most cases, not wasting elixir is the key to victory.

A Bigger push

A Bigger push

If you’re simply throwing cards one after the other in Clash Royale game, it will not work. They will go to your opponent’s guard tower, do a little bit of damage but end up getting killed. You need to create a small army of units which, when attacks the tower, annihilates it. Yes, CHARGE!!!

The best way is to let the elixir bar fill to at least 9, then drop one unit behind the king tower. It is the farthest distance between your unit and the opponents tower, and it gives you enough time to build up elixir. Now as your unit moves forward, you can start dropping other units and when they reach the bridge, it will be a small army. You’re welcome.

First Determine am i making a Defensive or Offensive Deck

      – Choose your win conditions. It’s a card or combination of cards that you use to bring enemy towers down. Example: Giant, Hog Rider, Goblin Barrel, etc. So Select your Favorite or Strongest Card

      – Choose your support troops and the right spells that have good synergy with your win conditions. Let’s say, Fireball is better for Hog Rider because the knock back and instant damage, while Poison is better with bigger tanks because the larger radius and bigger damage output that can kill Musketeer etc.

      – Choose your defensive cards. Better to have at least 2 troops that can target air.

Keep in mind that you NEED to upgrade your deck if you want to progress in the game. Legendary and Epic cards are harder to upgrade than Rare or Common. So think about that too.

In last Make sure Elixir cost is not too high or too low for consistent defense or consistent tower damage (Cant have Both)
