Q 7.2: A load of 15g elongates a spring by 2cm. If body of mass 294g is attached to the spring and is set into vibration with amplitude of 10cm, what will be its (i) period (ii) spring constant (iii) maximum speed of its vibration?

Why don’t we use 294 g to find out the spring constant in 7.2?
We need two values to find spring constant. Mass and spring extension. Now for first mass we have value for spring extension (x) which is 2cm, where as for second mass we don’t have spring extension (x) value. So if we want to use the second mass value then we have to calculate (x) for second mass.
