Bottlegourd and chicken curry is a traditional dish. Bottlegourd is a vegetable, readily available during summer season. Bottle gourd is available in different shapes and sizes. Bottlegourd is very healthy vegetable and by adding chicken in it. You get an amazing flavours of bhuna chicken and healthy vegetable altogether.
Ingredients
1/2 kg kadoo, chopped
2 medium sized onion, thinly sliced
1 tomato, chopped
4 large cloves of garlic
3-4 green chillies
2 tsp crushed coriander seeds
250 g chicken, with bones
1/3 cup cooking oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
3/4 tsp salt
1and 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Fresh coriander
1/2 tsp qasuri meethi
Procedure
1. Chop all the vegetables and rinse off well. Take ginger, garlic, green chillies and crushed coriander seeds. Grind them well and make a fone paste.
2. In a pressure cooker, add cooking oil and Preheat oil on medium heat. Add whole cumin seeds and fry for a minute.
3. Add thinly sliced onions and cook onions on medium heat for about 8 minutes or until turn golden around edges.
4. Add ginger garlic paste and stir well. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until paste cooked completely.
5. Add just a splash of water. Add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Stir it well.
6. Add water and mix it again. Add tomatoes, mix and cover it. Let the tomatoes to soft.
7. When tomatoes ate fully cooked. Add chicken pieces, stir well. Cook chicken till oil separates out from the masala about 8 to 10 minutes.
8. Add kadoo, mix well. Add water as much as you prefer. Cover the lid and once the whistle blows, let it cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
9. Let the pressure cooker to come to its normal setting naturally. Once it’s pressure comes down to normal. Open the lid and mix well. Add chopped fresh coriander and qasuri meethi. Serve and enjoy.
